Leidos Launches Portal to Accelerate and Improve Biomedical Research Funding

In order to further scientific advancement, Leidos, a health, national security and engineering solutions company, in partnership with the National Institutes of Health (NIH), created OnPAR (Online Partnership to Accelerate Research). OnPAR represents a new funding paradigm that provides a second opportunity for promising unfunded NIH research proposals. Leidos has developed the OnPAR processes and website and will manage the overall program.

Physical Therapy for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Pain Often As Effective as Surgery

A multicenter team of Spanish researchers conducted a randomized clinical trial to compare the one-year effectiveness of manual physical therapies, including desensitization maneuvers of the central nervous system, and surgery in patients with CTS. CTS surgery has the highest utilization rate among upper extremity procedures performed.
