Inaugural Meeting of the Pain Management Best Practices Inter-Agency Task Force
On May 30-31, 2018, the inaugural meeting of the Pain Management Task Force will feature speakers from HHS, VA, DoD, ONDCP as well as perspectives on pain management from experts in the field including:
- Mental health,
- Addiction, recovery and substance use disorders,
- Prevention and treatment,
- Service delivery and payment,
- Clinicians/providers, and
- Special populations.
The meeting will feature personal stories of people who live in chronic pain to increase awareness and recognize the challenges, opportunities, and strengths of this population. The meeting will also address key pain management topics for the Task Force to consider as it updates best practices on pain management and makes recommendations to address gaps and inconsistencies between best practices for pain management, including chronic and acute pain, developed or adopted by federal agencies.
