About APS

Strategic Plan

In 2012, the APS Board of Directors refined the APS organizational structure to reflect the society's mission and strategic goals in eight domains. Extensive effort was invested in designing the domains and resulted in two distinct infrastructures: Administrative and Mission.  The Administrative Infrastructure supports the operations of APS through the Membership, Governance, Finance & Operations, and Communications domains. The Mission Infrastructure supports the mission, vision and values of the organization through the Research, Education, Clinical, and Advocacy domains.  These domains provide the foundation for several rigorous board planning meetings to continually set domain priorities to guide the organization for the near future.

The following mission driven domains provide a summary view of the results of the board's planning efforts. The strategies in place are the basis of important new projects APS is funding.
