Collaborative for REMS Education (CO*RE)

The Collaborative for REMS Education (CO*RE) is a group of 11 organizations in the pain community formed in response to the FDA’s pending blueprint of educational content aimed at supporting those who treat patients in pain. The goal of this group is to ensure that Long Acting-Extended Release (LA/ER) opioids are prescribed, when indicated, in a manner that enhances patient well‐being and does not contribute to individual or public harm. APS is a partner of CO*RE and provides the evidence based, scientific expertise in developing educational content.

  • CO*RE, in partnership with Medscape, launched "Opioid REMS and Safe Use Practices: What Are the Implications Today?" This online activity includes APS members Charles Argoff, MD; and Renee Manworren, PhD, APRN, PCNS-BC “and Carol Havens, MD from CO*RE partner, the California Academy of Family Physicians, The session covers the topic of long-acting/extended release opioid REMS, and offers CME/CE credit for learners.
