Poster Abstracts

The 32nd Annual Scientific Meeting will feature two author-attended poster sessions. Chosen from a large number of submissions, the more than 400 selected posters represent the best innovations and research in the study and treatment of pain. Poster abstracts selected for presentation at the annual meeting will be available online in a searchable database to allow registrants to plan their poster viewing in advance of the meeting. The abstracts are scheduled to be available online in April, 2013.

Acceptance letters were mailed to all primary authors on December 17, 2012.
There will be two author-attended poster sessions at the annual meeting. Posters ending in an odd number will be on display on Wednesday, May 8 and Thursday, May 9. Posters ending in an even number will be on display on Thursday, May 9 and Friday, May 10. Authors are only required to be present during their assigned display time. Posters will be set-up and displayed in the exhibit hall.

If your poster board number ends in an odd number:

• Set up your poster on Wednesday, May 8 between 2-4:15 PM.
• Please be at your poster on Thursday, May 9 from 9:30-11 AM (you only need to be present during this author-attended session).
• Your poster must be removed at 11 AM on Thursday. APS cannot be held responsible for any posters remaining on boards after this time.

If your poster board number ends in an even number:

• Set up your poster on Thursday, May 9 between 12:30 and 2 PM.
• Please be at your poster on Friday, May 10 from 8:45-10:15 AM (you only need to be present during this author-attended session).
• Your poster must be removed at 10:15 AM on Friday. APS cannot be held responsible for any posters remaining on boards after this time.

Please plan to be available during most of your assigned author-attended session so that you can discuss your work and answer questions from attendees. The author-attended sessions are relatively informal, with attendees visiting several posters during the allotted time period. You are not expected to prepare a formal presentation, but should be ready to discuss your work with attendees who stop to view your poster.

Poster boards are 4’ x 8’. APS will place your poster number on your poster board and will also provide Velcro tabs for adhering your poster to your board. Most presenters prepare their posters as one 4’ x 8’ piece. Refer to the photograph on this page for an example of how the posters appear in the exhibit hall.
